Friable asbestos removal within Hakea prison consisted of over 60,000 man hours incident free, full asbestos enclosures were erected and daily personal and area monitors were conducted and all results were conclusive of being under the control limit. An extremely high standard of work was maintained throughout the 7 month project and every deadline was met.
The tasks involved setting up enclosures, removing existing metal ceilings, the underlying asbestos peg board and fibre glass insulation as well as environmental cleans and mould remediation to the current legislation. Exceeding WorkSafe expectations during audits.
